The farm of about 35 ha is located in the municipality of Torgiano in an area formerly inhabited by the Etruscans. One part is located near the confluence of the Chiascio and Tiber rivers, and another part in the hills at an altitude between 200 and 400 metres above sea level.
The land, which initially belonged to the Lungarotti family, passed to Mario Cascianelli, the son of Maria Lungarotti, a lawyer with a great passion for the land, in the 1970s. It was he who noticed that these lands had a strong vocation for fruit growing, including vines, olive and cherry trees. 2012 saw the birth of the FATTORIA MANI DI LUNA, a company formed by three friends (Simone, Rocco and Alessandro) with the common intention of redeveloping the farm by converting it to organic and Biodynamic farming methods.
Most of the olive trees are located in terraced areas with high slopes, making manual care of the plants indispensable. The proximity of the woods and the Mediterranean-type climate make it possible for the entire olive grove to be managed in an extremely natural way, making any type of treatment unnecessary. The olive harvest is done by hand with the use of facilitating hands that respect the integrity of the trees; the olives collected in small 15 kg crates are milled within 48 hours.
