Fabbrica Birra Perugia is a historic brand, founded in 1875 and re-launched in a contemporary key in 2013.the enterprise is due to a group of friends, in love with beer and their roots, determined to give back to the city its brewery.the craft beers produced immediately met with great success, both in the region and abroad. Even the critics soon took notice of this young reality, literally flooded with awards and recognitions: from the European Beer Star to the Brussels Beer Challenge, from the main sector guides to the prestigious Beer of the Year competition. An unstoppable escalation that culminated in February 2016, when Fabbrica Birra Perugia was proclaimed Brewery of the Year. In fact, the history of beer in Perugia has ancient roots: one of the milestones was laid in 1875, the year the factory was founded by Ferdinando Sanvico, although beer had already been brewed in the city since the mid-19th century, by an Austrian lady from Innsbruck, who had set up her own small production facility here.In those years, the company was based in some premises in Palazzo Silvestri, in the central Via Baglioni, near the snow depots located in the basement of the Rocca Paolina and used at the time as primordial fridges for the maturation and conservation of beer, made in special oak barrels. Not infrequently, deliveries to the grocery-restaurant at the railway station and the few taverns in Fontivegge were made by handcart. A journey of no less than 5 kilometres! In the early 20th century, the brewery reached significant production and the beer was distributed throughout central Italy. The premises were thus moved to the larger premises in Via Oradina (today Via Bartolo), which extended through the cellars that stretched from the Turreno theatre to below Piazza Piccinino. This lasted until 1926, when Birra Perugia was bought by a large industrial group in the sector. The idea of the current partners was and is simple, ambitious and a little crazy: to re-found the brewery after almost 90 years and make it one of the best craft breweries in the country. After long studies, research, attempts and sacrifices, Fabbrica Birra Perugia is once again a reality.

Calibre 7 is an exuberant and original American Pale Ale with strong citrus and tropical overtones. The style, the creativity of the recipe and the important dry hopping, using no less than seven different hops, sculpt a beer with an unconventional and irreverent taste.

An Imperial IPA of character and power, albeit in the sign of the Birra Perugia style, always attentive to balance and drinkability. The aromatic sensations range from tropical fruits to resins, crossed by balsamic gusts that drag the sip towards distant and unpredictable landings.

This beer is dedicated to an incredible and ancient story. It was 1906 and the wagon train of William Cody, known as Buffalo Bill, arrived in Perugia with an escort of no less than four trains, 500 horses, bison, long horns, 800 people including orderlies, cowboys and Indians, plus a few Arabs and Japanese, and waited in Piazza d'Armi, forming a huge circus. The Buffalo Circus symbolises the encounter between American culture and our way of brewing. A true show of hops (simcoe, mosaic, chinook) that amaze with their aromatic games and gustatory peripeteia, capable of herbaceous pirouettes and balsamic somersaults.

Golden Ale is a pale beer with moderate alcohol content but great aroma, freshness and flavour. Brewed by the top-fermentation method, it is inspired by a decidedly charming English style that combines drinkability and taste like few others in the world.

Barley Wine rests for about a year in oak barrels, previously used for the ageing of one of Umbria's most prestigious wines: the Torgiano Riserva Vigna Monticchio Lungarotti. It is then re-fermented in the bottle and refined in the cellar. Alcoholic, with beautiful matter and aromatic intensity, it can age for over twenty years, acquiring increasingly fascinating tertiary sensations over time.

A decidedly original porter thanks to the use of roasted and ground cocoa beans (Arriba Nacional), the usual dose of which is doubled thanks to the extraordinary addition of a second variety of cocoa from Equador, originating in the vocated Esmeraldas region (distilled using a small local still). Dark and magnetic, it is a beer with a surprisingly roasted base and continuous hints of coffee, liquorice and chocolate.

ILA is a Scotch Ale born from the collaboration with Samaroli, one of the world's leading distillers. Ageing in barrels used in whisky production, from some of the best distilleries in Scotland, makes this beer incredibly complex. The aromas range from caramel to dried fruit and are shot through with refined iodine, marine and slightly peaty hints. The taste is enveloping and deep, warm and assertive, of interminable persistence.

Santa ILA is matured in whisky casks from Scottish distilleries and uses the fragrant Palo Santo. The result is a mahogany-coloured beer with very complex aromas of fine woods accompanying peaty and spicy notes. The mouthfeel is broad, warm and enveloping.
