A cultural and sensory journey into the world of oil in the heart of Umbria. A unique experience to rediscover the sense of smell and taste to learn to recognise and appreciate top quality oil.

There are many ways to communicate an emotion and we, the Decimi family, have chosen to do this by becoming olive growers and oil millers out of passion and love for our land. The aim is to produce a limited selection of extra virgin olive oils of the highest quality, which in a 'holistic' way will follow the needs of taste and health, able to transmit an emotion to both body and spirit.

If Umbria is the green heart of Italy, Assisi its spiritual heart, Bettona is the Etruscan terrace from which to admire it immersed in the silvery Umbrian hills.

Our farm is located in the municipality of Bettona on the slopes of the Martani Mountains, the ancient hosts of our olive groves. The pride of our company is that we personally manage all operations starting from the 'in the field'. With great skill in cultivation methods, the olive varieties of Moraiolo, Frantoio, Leccino and San Felice manage to preserve their natural biodiversity and express their character in the oils we extract.

You can visit our oil mill and in the tasting room immerse yourself in the extraordinary art of sensory tasting to learn all the secrets of quality extra virgin olive oil.

Explanation of the production process for obtaining a quality oil, through a description of how our state-of-the-art machinery works. Followed by a sensory experience to learn how to (re)learn about a quality oil through tasting. At the end, we will learn how to combine the right oil with some traditional dishes.

What is included

After discovering the oil mill and surprising the senses with a sensory tasting of 4 oils, our guests will learn how to eat oil. Through food pairings, we will discover how quality oil can enhance the flavours of even the simplest dishes. They will then test their palates with bruschetta, fresh vegetables, cereals and/or pulses, and cheeses to be paired with the 4 oils tasted, then play with pairing oil with ice cream! To finish, there will be a tasting of our oil spreads.
