Tour - I borghi delle due valli

Arrival in Spoleto, capital of the ancient Longobard duchy. Strolling through the alleyways, the city will show how the ancient Roman past still lives on in the theatre and the remains of the ancient forum. Continue through the scenic Piazza del Duomo, home of the famous Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of the Two Worlds), the evocative Rocca Albornoziana and the Ponte delle Torri.

Time at disposal for lunch. Transfer to Campello sul Clitunno, a fortified village developed around the triangular-shaped Pissignano Castle and Campello Basso, where the church of the Madonna Bianca is located. Finally, one cannot help but be enraptured by the splendid Fonti del Clitunno, sacred to the Romans who came to the banks to hear the answers of the oracles of the god Clitunno. Clear, cool waters flow from the fissures, creating a green oasis where one can enjoy the sounds that nature offers. Visit to an olive oil mill and tasting of bruschetta with olive oil. Arrival at the agriturismo, dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the agriturismo. Departure for Foligno and meeting with the local guide (licensed by the Region of Umbria). Piazza della Repubblica, the beating heart of the city, is surrounded by an architectural maze consisting of the Duomo, dedicated to San Feliciano, a splendid neoclassical building, the Palazzo Comunale and Palazzo Trinci, home to the Pinacoteca. Time at leisure for lunch. Transfer and stop at theAbbey of Sassovivo, a monastery surrounded by greenery. Continuation to Rasiglia, a village known as the "little Venice of Umbria", winding its way among small stone houses, mills, streams and waterfalls. Return to the agriturismo.

SPELLO

Prima colazione in agriturismo. Partenza per Spello. Mattina dedicata alla scoperta della splendida cittadina, la Colonia Julia Hispellum che sotto Augusto acquisì notevole importanza, arricchendosi di splendidi monumenti. La visita può iniziare dalla Porta Urbica, proseguire fino alla Porta Consolare per poi giungere alla chiesa Collegiata di Santa Maria Maggiore in cui ammirare Cappella Baglioni con il noto ciclo di affreschi ad opera del Pinturicchio. Si potranno ammirare la chiesa di S. Andrea, il Palazzo Comunale, i resti di una Porta Romana, detta Arco di Augusto. Le vie sono rese ancor più suggestive dalle caratteristiche medievali delle costruzioni, tra cui la Porta Venere, affiancata dalla Torri di Properzio. Pranzo libero. Partenza.
