The excursion includes the cave route that crosses the mountainside from east to north. Entrance from the Miliani shaft, the large Cathedral, Margherita, Becco rooms, the narrow secret passage, the small north exit shaft. From the steep Valrachena 1400 m a.s.l. we reach the Mainardi hut 1100 m a.s.l. located in the wide karst plain of Pian delle Macinare with the swallow holes of the rainwater plunging into the rocky depths. Stop for lunch at the refuge and return to the large beech forests of the Fida and Madre dei Faggi di Val di Ranco 1182 m a.s.l.

Adequate physical fitness is required to tackle a mountain trail lasting 5:30 hours, and a length of 9.3 km

(1) ritrovo a Pian di Monte (1197 m s.l.m.) decollo sud deltaplani presso la casetta presidio guide della grotta di Monte Cucco; Ore 9:30 partenza escursione; (2) visita in grotta; (3) arrivo in località Pian delle Macinare pasto veloce con prodotti tipici; (4)  arrivo a Val di Ranco.
