Arrival in Umbria planned after lunch, accommodation in a 3* agriturismo / hotel. In the afternoon, we suggest you visit Assisi, the city of peace, on your own and take a walk along its enchanting alleyways.

Pax et Bonum! This is the greeting with which Assisi welcomes you, a Franciscan place par excellence, not only in Umbria and Italy, but throughout the world. St Francis was in fact born in Assisi in 1182; in the place where his birthplace is believed to have been located, today stands the Chiesa Nuova. It is in Assisi that he was baptised, in the Cathedral of San Rufino, it is among its alleys that he spent his youth dreaming of a future as a valiant knight, it is here, where the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore stands today, in the Piazza del Vescovado, that he stripped himself, repudiating earthly goods for love of God and his brothers and sisters. It is still in Assisi, in the Church of San Damiano, that praying before the crucifix, he receives the task of renewing the Church of Christ, it is in the town square that he begins his preaching and his work of charity and peace, and it is finally here that he dies in 1226. His remains are preserved in the Basilica of St Francis, but the saint still lives in every stone of Assisi.

Dopo aver assistito alle operazioni di gonfiaggio, partirete a bordo della mongolfiera alla scoperta dei luoghi umbri, visti da una prospettiva completamente diversa e da un posto privilegiato. Una volta finito il volo, avrà luogo una ricca colazione con una degustazione di vini abbinati a prodotti tipici umbri in una cantina locale. Successivamente potrete fare una visita libera a Montefalco, uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia, prima di tornare a casa.
