Nature: The Park Hotel ai Cappuccini is located west of the town of Gubbio, at the base of Monte Foce. The renovation project wanted to emphasise the character of the original "monastery village", respecting the main architectural body and creating an accommodation complex in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment, set in a large park with centuries-old trees and a magnificent olive grove. The original water spring of the monks still serves the hotel. There is an astonishing choice of routes to take on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, including the famous Via di Francesco, which links Gubbio to La Verna on one side and Assisi on the other. You can climb the fascinating "Gola dei dinosauri" (Dinosaurs' Gorge) and walk along the medieval aqueduct up the "Colle eletto del Beato Ubaldo" (The Chosen Hill of Blessed Ubaldo) (Divine Comedy, Paradise, Canto XI, Dante Alighieri), which can also be reached by an evocative cableway, which houses the basilica of the city's patron saint, to discover a marvellous view of the Gubbio plain or reach the Parco di Coppo, ideal for picnics or to enjoy the coolness provided by the copious pinewoods in summer.
