Itinerario di viaggio
Arrival in Umbria scheduled after lunch, accommodation in a 3* farmhouse / hotel (area between Foligno and Perugia depending on availability at the time of confirmation). In the afternoon, we recommend a visit to Spello on your own.
The Porta Consolare marks the entrance to Spello or, as Julius Caesar called it, the Splendidissima Colonia Julia, an enchanting village of Roman origin, listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, thanks to its rich environmental, cultural and artistic heritage. Spello still preserves traces of its historical past with its ancient walls and Properzio Towers protecting Porta Venere, another access point to the town. The church of Santa Maria Maggiore can be reached by strolling through charming alleys and ancient streets, along which flowered balconies overlook the town and which, with the passage of time, have become true symbols of the town, and still remain one of its most sought-after attractions. The church houses an artistic treasure inside: the Baglioni Chapel, with Deruta majolica floor tiles and frescoes by Pinturicchio. Spello also boasts a rich picture gallery and, just outside the walls, a marvellous museum complex known as the 'Villa Dei Mosaici', which has unearthed 500 square metres of precious mosaics whose central theme is the grape harvest and wine.
At approximately 20:30, rich welcome dinner in a farmhouse/restaurant selected by us, drinks included. After dinner, return to accommodation and overnight stay.
Breakfast at an agritourism farmhouse/hotel and travel to a farmhouse near Assisi, where, together with our expert cook, you will take a fun and interesting cookery course in which you will come into contact with the Umbrian and Italian culinary tradition , and learn the entire process of preparing a delicious homemade lasagne . We will learn all the ingredients, tools and techniques needed to prepare the pastry, the different preparations and the condiments we can use. The lasagna we will prepare will be so delicious that it will be our lunch!
At the end, lunch with lasagna and other specialities, drinks included. In the afternoon, we suggest a visit to Assisi, a Franciscan place par excellence not only in Umbria and Italy, but throughout the world.
Return to accommodation, free dinner and overnight stay.
Colazione in agriturismo / hotel e check-out.
