Torrenova di Assisi is a very special farmhouse, set inside a real medieval tower, a few kilometres from the centre of Assisi. The recently restored rooms overlook the splendid park where the Chiascio river flows and the Osteria della Torre, the restaurant, offers typical Umbrian cuisine in the rooms surrounding the inner courtyard. The services offered are: accommodation with board, catering, meeting rooms and small ceremonies. The common areas host La Città del Sole, a marvellous reconstruction of Assisi at the time of St. Francis set up on the four floors of the tower. Also available to guests are: a terrace overlooking the park, a library with reading room, art and holistic disciplines workshops, and an exhibition of ancient farming culture. The management of the facility operates with a constant commitment to the promotion of social tourism, with particular attention to each of its categories and its possible development. On the right bank of the Chiascio river, between Perugia and Assisi, we find, immersed in the greenery of a large park, the ancient Torre Chiascina. Its origins are lost in the early Middle Ages, before the year 1000, and it underwent numerous destructions and reconstructions until it took on its current appearance between 1300 and 1400.The spectacular and majestic reproduction of Assisi at the time of St Francis was the result of a strong spiritual experience lived by Mr Giancarlo Bocconi of Assisi.
