A three-day proposal in one of the most beautiful areas of Umbria, combining the beauty of Spoleto and villages such as Sant'Anatolia, Scheggino, Ferentillo and Arrone, with the unspoilt nature of the Valnerina, before concluding in front of the stupendous spectacle of the Marmore Falls.

You will cycle along the evocative route of the former Spoleto-Norcia railway, in the section from Spoleto to Sant'Anatolia di Narco, the one with the most viaducts and tunnels, and then along the section of the Greenway that runs along the Nera and that will take you to the waterfalls, always far from the traffic. The itinerary develops in the southern part of Umbria, between Spoleto and the Valnerina. On the first day there will be the pass leading to the Caprareccia tunnel: it is about 6 kilometres, but with very gentle slopes, since in the past it was travelled by train. On the second day there are no difficult climbs, but more like ups and downs that must be tackled with the right gears. On the second day, in any case, the route tends mainly downhill.

Overall, the route can be considered medium-easy and a healthy and active person will be able to tackle it without difficulty, also because the kilometres are short. However, it would be ideal to train in the run-up to the holiday, especially to get used to being in the saddle for several hours and avoid pain and soreness.

Day 1

Individual arrival in Spoleto and first overnight stay. The historic centre is rich in artistic and cultural beauty, which in recent years has been made famous by the filming of 'Don Matteo'. In addition, at any time of year it offers entertainment opportunities such as festivals, exhibitions, and shows. A city on a human scale, ideal for discovering on foot or even by bicycle, an optimal starting point for our tours.

Overnight stay in the Spoleto area

Day 2 - Spoleto - Castel San Felice (20km)

A truly evocative itinerary, which will allow you to cycle along the route of the former Spoleto-Norcia railway, tackling tunnels and viaducts that take you into the green Valnerina valley. The first part of the section is all uphill, while the second is downhill. The slopes are never challenging.

Overnight stay in Castel San Felice.

Day 3 - Castel San Felice - Marmore Falls (30 km)

A route that alternates between asphalt and dirt road and runs along the River Nera, immersed in the nature of the Valnerina and far from traffic. You will pass through the villages of Sant'Anatolia di Narco, Scheggino, Ferentillo and Arrone before arriving at the Marmore Falls.

Return to Castel San Felice with our van, shower and lunch.
