In the hills near Spoleto, in front of a beautiful castle, Fattora del Castello is born!!!


Land, trees, ancient structures that have witnessed the passage of peoples, farmers and ancient traditions, among them a castle dating back to the 14th century, finely restored, which gives its name to the place "Castello di Baiano". A family-run farm, focused on the organic cultivation of olive trees, cattle, sheep, pigs and farmyard animals, and more recently on the planting of an orchard (including ancient fruits), a cultivated truffle ground, officinal plants and the start of beekeeping activities. The Latini sisters, Valeria (Degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology), and passionate about medicinal herbs and natural therapies. Sara (Degree in Economics and Business Administration) Entrepreneur, the heart of the company, who with great passion and a green thumb takes care not only of administrative activities, but above all of all of all agricultural paperwork, and Francesca (Degree in Economics and Food Culture) who is responsible for the food safety of the company's products and is passionate about beekeeping; together with their parents, they each make their own contribution to what is now a beautiful farm "Fattoria del Castello" with the possibility for young and old to have many types of experiences and learning and direct knowledge of a simple and welcoming environment that smells of tradition and history with a whiff of feminine novelty.

Let's observe closely and get to know together the fantastic world of our "2-legged" friends.

An approach to the world of hens and an exploration of those natural behaviours and rules that structure it. We will discover many different breeds with their colourful plumage, as well as the main differences between rooster and hen during their various life stages. We will look into the courtship dance and witness the birth of the 'chick', learning to recognise all the different 'voices' coming from the hen house, and finally go in search of the answer to one of the most classic questions, 'but can hens fly'?

We will explore the egg in all its dimensions and colours. And much more besides. (Re-adapt content according to the child's age)

Walk in the forest and read a book under our large oak tree. Activity concluding with a practical experience: making a nest out of natural materials. Professional figures involved: Educational farm workers who have participated in the training course

Timing and structuring of topics: The activity takes place in the morning or afternoon and includes an initial welcome phase during which operators and children get to know each other, followed by an illustration of the didactic routes and the spaces on the farm where they can be created.
