The Via di Francesco is an itinerary over 270 km long that, crossing Umbria from north to south, allows you to follow a path that is also an inner journey in search of values, of the desire for peace, retracing the steps taken by Francesco, the Saint of Assisi, patron saint of Italy and of Europe.

The classic route of the Via di Francesco from the North can be roughly the following:

Arrival in Santuario della Verna area

2° Day

SANTUARIO DELLA VERNA – PIEVE SANTO STEFANO (15 km)

Dinner and overnight

3° Day

CITERNA – CITTA DI CASTELLO (20 km)

Moving from the structure of Pieve Santo Stefano to the starting point of Citerna.

4° Day

PIETRALUNGA – GUBBIO (26 km)

Moving from the structure of Città di Castello to the starting point of Pietralunga.

5° Day

GUBBIO – BISCINA (20 km)

In the morning sightseeing tour of the city with the Gubbio Express

Every night of the itinerary, overnight stay is provided at facilities such as the Refuge of the Pilgrim of the Sanctuary of La Verna, 3/2 star hotels, farmhouses and guest houses, along the Via di Francesco route which have availability thus guaranteeing overnight accommodation and dinner in the structure.

As for the two movements that we normally feel we can suggest by car between Pieve Santo Stefano - Citerna and between Città di Castello - Pietralunga are inserted because the path according to the many who have traveled the Way is challenging and above all because it would force to add two additional overnight stays.
