A sea of green and emotions

For schools, families and young guests, the Aquilone educational farm offers visits and excursions with explanations on plants and animals, small farm work (sowing, transplanting, looking after the farm animals), cooking activities, kite making, ceramics, searching for animal tracks and plaster casts, treasure hunts, tournaments, orientation, and observation of solar motion. The farm is surrounded by woods, meadows and an olive grove where we still hand-pick the olives from which we produce our oil. You can see a chick being born, feed a donkey, collect fresh eggs, make tagliatelle or grandmother's biscuits, tend the vegetable garden and carry out other activities of rural life. L'Aquilone has been organising educational and play activities for more than forty years, and has fields and equipped outdoor and indoor spaces so you don't have to fear bad weather. In addition to activities for schools during the school year, L'Aquilone has been organising summer camps with overnight accommodation since 1976, welcoming children and young people from all over Italy. Among the possibilities for those organising a school visit, a visit to Gubbio and to some of the many historical and artistic centres in the area with a wide choice of destinations should not be forgotten. Some are: Assisi, Perugia, Todi, Frasassi Caves Paper Museum in Fabriano, Lake Trasimeno. Evenings are a magical time; we organise parties, games, dramatisations, shows, audiovisual projections, night-time outings in the surrounding countryside and observation of the vault of heaven. The Aquilone educational farm is located in Umbria, a few kilometres from Gubbio, a beautiful medieval town. It is a traditional stone farmhouse, recently completely renovated, comfortable and functional, located at 600 m altitude on top of a hill sloping down over olive groves, villages and meadows.
